2024 Grantees

Compton Girls Club
Compton Girls Club offers programming that addresses the whole person, giving their participants not only life and technical skills, but also a loving, safe space where they are respected, listened to and seen as wholly deserving girls of full, productive and happy lives.
The LAGC grant will be used to enhance their current program, with a primary focus on field trips that expose the girls to possible career or vocational paths, cultural experiences, etc. that they otherwise would not only not have access to, but may not know exist.

The Flow World
The Flow is the only non-profit in California focusing exclusively on reusable menstrual products. Providing culturally-specific and multilingual education about menstrual cups and donating them, The Flow works to serve under-resourced communities. Our work is at the intersection of social justice, health, and environment advocacy.

Friends of GALA
GALA is the only all-girls public STEM school in LAUSD and the state of California. GALA is 6th-12th grades and provides a highly rigorous college preparatory STEM-focused education in an all-girls environment based on voluntary enrollment that fosters academic excellence, ethical leadership, and intellectual curiosity.

New Village Girls Academy
The LAGC grant will help fund the expenses of New Village Girls Academy’s Parent & Community Liaison Initiative that provides critically needed one on one assistance to struggling students and their families to address issues such as housing instability, financial emergencies, lack of affordable childcare, immigration needs, and mental health issues that are standing in the way of school attendance and academic progress.

50/50 Leadership
50/50 is focused on providing financial literacy and leadership training to women in Los Angeles, with a focus for serving women in underserved communities. A large part of the women served have previously been in foster care, have been unhoused, previously incarcerated and or a surviving member of various gender-based violence.

Ready to Launch
Ready to Launch expands access for self- identifying women in Los Angeles County to careers in government and politics through it’s public events and innovative fellowship program. They provide the training, mentorship, stipends, and support that their fellows need to succeed.

A training and pre-apprenticeship course that allows women to enter high wage, high skill, non-traditional jobs in the construction trade.

Las Fotos Project
Our grant will fund Las Fotos Project’s new Creative Career Center, which will provide historically underrepresented young women and nonbinary people of color with the resources necessary to be competitive candidates in today's creative economy.

Our grant will support CodeTalk’s Expansion by funding a Teaching Assistant to support training and mentoring women in digital media and programming technologies. Learn More

Write Girl
Our grant will help support The WriteGirl Bold Futures College Access Program which provides in-depth college entrance guidance to all high school juniors and seniors enrolled in the WriteGirl Core Mentoring Program.
Youth served are primarily BIPOC teen girls, ages 13-18, including LGBTQIA+, trans and nonbinary youth, many of whom reside in underserved Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Taking the Reins
The LAGC grant will help support Seed to Kitchen, TTR's on-site, expansive garden and outdoor kitchen used for after school sessions and weekends teaching the basics of gardening/harvesting, healthy cooking and environmental stewardship to the girls and young women living in the food deserts of L.A.’s underserved communities.
